Here’s a fun fact from “the science” on honesty:

People who have a set of protected values that’s one standard deviation above the average discount the money they receive by lying by about 25 percent. A dollar received when lying is worth to them only 75 cents.”

I don’t really know what to do with this research result, but there’s something pleasing about it. “You’re going to make me lie to you? That’ll be $100. Want me to tell the truth? I’ll do it for $75!”

You feel better if you earn money in a way that is consistent with your values.
